ABOUT
Fizz and Figures serves upper middle and high school students who are ready for deeper focus, meaningful discussion, and authentic problem-solving in math. I believe students learn best when they are challenged appropriately, supported consistently, and invited into an environment that is structured, calm, and intellectually engaging. This program encourages collaboration by working alongside peers in activities during group classes.
LOW-TECH LEARNING SPACE
Fizz and Figures maintains a device-light classroom environment to allow for students to engage fully with ideas, materials, and one another. When appropriate, technology can be used as an assistive support to meet individual student needs. During class time, a document camera, laptop, and projector are regularly used to display content.
ACTIVE LEARNING IN MATH
At Fizz and Figures, students learn by doing—and by thinking about what they’re doing. In math, students tackle problems, look for patterns, and refine strategies through active participation and practical projects. In every class, we value curiosity, persistence, and sticking with a challenge—even when the answer isn’t obvious right away.
